JoAnn SilkesPh.D., CCC-SLP, is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Sciences. She received her B.A. in Speech and Hearing Sciences at Indiana University, her M.S. in Communicative Disorders at the University of Wisconsin, and her Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Sciences at the University of Washington. She then completed a post-doctoral research fellowship in the UW's Department of Rehabilitation Medicine while working in the Aphasia Research Lab and collaborating with the UW Cognitive Neuroscience of Language Lab (Dr. Lee Osterhout). Her research focuses on implicit processes, learning, and memory in aphasia therapy.
