Students with High-Intensity Needs

The CASE Scholars program is a training experience designed for a select group of University of Washington master’s students in speech-language pathology and special education teacher preparation. The program is designed for first-year master’s students interested in working in the public schools.

Current Projects

VALIDD (Vocabulary and Language for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)

A participatory research study on affirming, person-centered communication and vocabulary opportunities and supports. This research seeks to understand priorities for vocabulary learning, communication values, and experiences of youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their family members, and speech-language pathologists.

WAVE:   Wellbeing in Adulthood in FASD - Values and Expression

A remote study on the experiences and perspectives of young adults and their family members in the context of FASD.

Help us understand how services can better support communication, wellbeing, and problem solving for young adults, with a focus on the ages of 18 - 30 years! 

Participation is from home via Zoom.
