Introduction to the field of speech and hearing sciences and its associated professions. Provides broad overview of normal and impaired speech, language, swallowing, hearing, and balance disorders, and clinical practice settings. Discusses impact of social-cultural, ethical, and technological factors in diagnosis, treatment, and research. Required for majors; open to nonmajors. Offered: AS.
